The key to living a balanced life is… recognizing when you are out of said balance. You kinda have to be aware of when you feel that you’re off track in order to re-establish that balance. Paying attention to the energy you feel on a day-to-day helps you stay aligned with your purpose and is a great practice to get into the habit of for your own peace of mind.
With that said, a theme that’s kept showing up this year for me is “balance”. Whether that’s work/life, play/rest, boundaries/freedom I want to maintain an equilibrium (if possible) with most of these things.
I used to think very day or night about a lot of things. Thinking in such an extreme way left very little room for the nuances of being in-between. Because of that, it not only caused frustration but also left me feeling like I always had to pick a side and stay there.
I’ve learned to let go of the constant pressure and guilt I continuously put myself in by building self-compassion and realized that if I find myself leaning too far on the left or right, that’s okay. What matters is that I give myself the space and grace to feel what I need to feel, when I need to feel it, and to bring my equilibrium back to a balanced state (which includes both extremes) when I can.
On my latest podcast episode, Balancing Energies, I discuss how I’ve grown to be more aware of my unbalance and how it helps softly guide me back to an equilibrium state. More importantly, I share the signs I’ve learned to look out for when I’ve deviated too far off of my balance and how to respond to them.
Give this episode a listen and let me know if you feel the same <3
